BD-5 Mailing List Instructions

A mailing list is an email message "repeater". It takes messages sent by one of the list members and broadcasts them to all the other members of the "list". It's a simple, efficient way of communication between people who share an interest in the subject of the list.

What is the subject of the list?

The list is meant for conversation and discussions on the Bede Aircraft BD-5 experimental aircraft (all models).

How do I subscribe?

Send an email message to bd5-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Leave the subject and body line blank. Or, type in your email address and click on the icon below.

That's it. Your request will be sent to the list manager for validation, which should take no more than 24 hours. Once that is done, you are a member of the list and will begin receiving messages.

How often do I get messages?

That depends on how many messages are posted to the list. There are two versions of the list: DAILY and DIGEST. The Daily list repeats individual messages to list subscribers as they are posted to the list. The Digest list compiles all of the messages from the week into one message, and then sends it out to those who requested the Digest version. The Digest users will not get the Daily messages, and vice-versa.

If you are on the daily list and wish to switch to the digest, send an email message to bd5-digest@yahoogroups.com. If you want to switch back to the daily list, send a message to bd5-normal@yahoogroups.com. That's all there is to it. Subject and body empty.

Can I post ads?

Sure, as long as they are non-commercial (private parties only). Want Ads and For Sale ads are permitted.

What about SPAM and unsolicited mail? Will I get that on your list, as with newsgroups, etc?

No. In order to post a message you have to be a member. If you are a member and you post unsolicited SPAM or other forms of unwanted commercial ads, you will be unceremoniously booted and banned from the list.

What if I change my mind and want to be removed from the list?

Send an email message to bd5-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com. Leave the subject and body empty.

Do you make any money from the list (or the web site)?

No.

What about disruptive users?

Insults, foul or obscene language and disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated on the list. We expect all members of the list to treat others as they would like to see others treat them. The purpose is to enjoy the conversations, and join in when you feel you'd like to do so, not to get mad or waste people's time.
